The Village Jazz Band is a Dixieland band, playing and singing the music of Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, and other musicians associated with the traditional New Orleans style of toe-tapping jazz and soulful blues. The band also has a selection of standards and novelty pieces for special occasions.
The Village Jazz Band has been performing its upbeat music around metropolitan Washington, D.C. since 1982, when it was founded in suburban Montgomery Village, Maryland.
