The VJB is an 8-piece band (7 instruments and a singer). Depending on player availability, we may perform with 6 or 7. We do not provide small combos. We perform indoors or outdoors but are not suitable for intimate or severely space-restricted settings.
The picture below shows our normal staging configuration. We require a flat area approximately equivalent to 12' X 12'. We can accommodate to rectangular or odd shaped spaces within reason. For outdoor performances in summer weather, we expect covering or shade to shield the direct sun. We do not play outdoors in rain or in cold weather without protection or heating, as appropriate.
We can provide our own sound system, suitable for most indoor and many outdoor situations. We prefer professional sound when available.
We require convenient access to electricity for sound that we bring and for an electric keyboard, when an on-site piano is not provided. We appreciate the availability of 2 or 3 folding chairs.
