About Us
The Village Jazz Band was organized in 1982 to provide Dixieland music for the opening of the Gaithersburg, MD branch of the Montgomery County Library, just outside the residential community of Montgomery Village. The VJB is a member of the Potomac River Jazz Club and has played at PRJC functions and at many venues around the capital area over the years since our founding, including concerts in municipal and county parks in Maryland and Northern Virginia. We also have provided music for dancing and listening pleasure at private parties, street and art fairs, neighborhood and company parties, retirement communities and senior centers.

The VJB is an eight piece band: cornet, clarinet, trombone, piano, drums, tuba, banjo, and vocalist.
